New River Community College’s Office of Workforce Development fosters economic growth and development by providing a variety of services, including skills upgrading and career development programs, retraining, pre-employment workshops and state-of-the-art technology instruction. Workforce Development staff develop customized training programs to meet the specific needs of employers, and the unit also offers open enrollment courses in areas ranging from computing to management training.

In 2012-2013, over 300 employers benefited from NRCC Workforce programs and services.  The college has recently seen significant growth in the numbers of both organizations and individuals served through training and related activities.
